You shouldn't be able to see a lot of light through your cats. If they are stock it shouldn't be obstructed, but you shouldn't see large amounts of daylight either. Something you can try that I did before I had a hookup on my stickers is to pull the vacuum line off your fuel pressure regulator. I read this on an Australian 300zx forum and it worked great for me. Just pull the vacuum line, and tuck it down so most inspectors won't notice it. Have the car tested and then hook it back up. Should pass. If not, ask around and I'm sure you can find someone willing to hook you up with a sticker under the table. Hot rodders have been getting inspection stickers for years, just gotta find the right guy and offer him some cash!
